The latest issue of Soundzine is out today. I did a recording of my story, Channel Zero, for the latest issue, and you can listen to here. If you’re at work and can’t stream audio, you can also download the mp3. I highly recommend this issue, as well as the past issues. Salli and Charles have both worked their asses off to get it together, and it looks mighty fine, bringing together a combination of recorded poetry and prose, as well as a nice selection of music and visual art.
Haven’t heard from Lulu about the distribution, which is a good thing. It’s been over a week, and last time I submitted the book for approval, I received the bad news exactly one week later. No news is good news this early in the game.
Erica’s helping me out with some new promo ideas. This is good, since the current promo package is a little stale.
I’ve made up my mind on the ebook thing. Expect an announcement sometime next week.
A few real-life concerns have kept me from editing much this week. I’m into chapter two of the novel, and am fortunate enough to have enlisted the help of William Brown. Bill sent me the first five edited pages, and it pleases me to see that we’re on the same level as far as finding trouble spots and things that can be tightened/corrected/deleted. Whereas I’m looking for more thematic, plot-related issues, he is also doing a wonderful job of finding odd wording, phrasing and other nuisances. After seeing those first five pages, I realized just how much work I have ahead of me. “Daunting” doesn’t even begin to describe it.
I did, however, manage to squeeze out a piece of flash fiction. It has a Channel Zero flavor to it. I’m going to tweak it a bit longer before I upload it. It’s titled “Spin.”
I think that’s about it for now. I’m going to try and update this thing more frequently, so warm up your RSS readers and keep your eyes peeled.
Later, folks.
