Life: Less Defined
After much debate, second-guessing and trepidation, I’ve made the decision to release my novel, A Life Transparent, for free in digital format. So, as of right now, you can download the electronic version of A Life Transparent absolutely free. It’s released under a Creative Commons license, which states you’re free to copy, distribute and transmit the work, but you can’t use it for commercial purposes or alter it in any way. You’re welcome to read the full legal code here.
In other words, it’s yours to print and share–and, by all means, feel free to spread it around. I’m all about free advertising. It is not, however, yours to sell, so keep that in mind. If you read it and want a copy for your bookshelf, the paperback version is still on sale at Lulu (and soon on Amazon, whenever it passes the distribution approval).
So what are you waiting for? Go download A Life Transparent and make your life pitch.
Erica and I are working on some new promo material for ALT as well. She’s currently got a list of interview questions that I have to answer, and I’ve been putting it off all week but it looks like I’m going to have to buckle down and get to it. I think I blogged about this last time. I’m too lazy to go back and check, so if I’m repeating myself, please accept my apologies?
I’ve been taking a break from editing imagiNATION this week, as the muse is starting to poke at my brain. My friend Thomas , who happens to be a literature gallery director over at deviantART , has organized a horror writing contest for Halloween. The deadline is actually November 7th since the contest had such a late start, and the maximum word count is 2000 words. I’m a sucker for pulp horror and have been getting into the swing of things by reading some Clive Barker, Joe R. Lansdale and H. P. Lovecraft. I’ve got an idea for a story that involves dead children. I just hope it’s a story that can be squeezed into 2000 words. I think so. We’ll just have to see, won’t we?
My latest piece of flash fiction, Spin, is available for download. It continues the Channel Zero storyline. I really like where it’s going, and I like that it’s something that I can come back to over time. Like a serialized story without a set schedule. Refreshing, even.
In other news, my story Jeff & the Antichrist will appear in the next issue of CRAM magazine. Look for it sometime later next month. I’ll be uploading the story for download here once the issue goes live.
Alicia Gomez’s novel, The Betrayer’s Promise, is now available on Lulu in both paperback and hardcover.
Issue 3 of Mimesis is now available as well. Go check it out.
I think that about covers it for now. Be sure and download A Life Transparent. And hey, if you like it, show some support and buy a copy. Thus ends my shameless promotion (for now).
Until next time, folks.
