Mountain after mountain.

Sorry, I disappeared again. I partially blame Mercedes Yardley: first she killed me in her latest story (which I had the pleasure of reading hot off the press), and now I have to return the favor somehow (in fictional form, of course).

The story in question is tentatively titled TIMMY THE DESTRUCTO-BOT VERSUS THE BULLIES OF FUTURE STREET, and I think I may send it out to a few places first before labeling it as the next ugly little thing. I’ve got about 500 words down. I have an outline. I know how it’s going to end. I’m just . . . preoccupied.

The second ULT release, WHEN KAREN MET HER MOUNTAIN, hits Amazon next Monday, February 3rd. I sent out a few ARCs over the weekend for review, but if you’re late to the party, just email me and let me know.

Here’s the synopsis:

“What will you do when meet your mountain, honey?”

Karen Singleton’s suicide attempt brought her a lot of clarity, helping her to understand her place in the world following a miscarriage, and just how deeply she loves her husband, Martin. Without his support, Karen believes she never would have made it through that troubling period of her life.

When their car is ambushed by a gang of fanatics and Martin is taken to serve as a human sacrifice, Karen will learn just how strong her love is—and just how fine the line is drawn between devotion and obsession—in Todd Keisling’s latest ugly little thing, WHEN KAREN MET HER MOUNTAIN.

This story previously appeared in MISERIA’S CHORALE by Forgotten Tomb Press.

I’ve been invited to contribute to a horror anthology that Terry M. West is putting together next month. I think I have a story in mind for it that ties in to April’s ULT release. Still too early to tell, but then again, you never know with me.

My posting frequency will pick up next week when the next ULT story goes on sale. Until then, I have a question for you: What do you do when you meet your mountain?
